Dr Jeff Ward

Dr. Jeff Ward obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction, from The University of Otago in New Zealand in 1996. Jeff spent three years as a Dental Officer in The New Zealand Army before commencing his specialist Endodontic training at the University of Melbourne, obtaining his Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry and Master of Dental Science from The University of Melbourne in 2002. Jeff became a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2008 and Jeff is also a Fellow of The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Jeff has worked in full-time specialist Endodontic practice in Melbourne since 2002. He also has teaching engagements at The Melbourne Dental School, lecturing and demonstrating in the clinic to dental students. Jeff teaches continuing education courses and lectures on various endodontic topics for Universities and the Dental Industry throughout Australia, Asia and New Zealand. Jeff has published several articles in endodontic journals with particular reference to the management of fractured endodontic instruments and vital pulp therapy. Jeff has a special interest in rotary NiTi instruments and the use of operative microscopes in endodontics, which he has used since 2000.
Jeff is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Jeff is also actively involved in several dental and endodontic groups and serves on the Australian Dental Association (Vic Branch) DPBRN eviDent committee. Jeff has also served as the Secretary/Treasurer and also the President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic Branch). Jeff is also heavily involved in Rugby Union in Victoria and with Dental Trauma in Sports and has served on the medical teams for the Melbourne Rebels and Australian Wallabies Rugby Union teams.
Dr Averil Tse
BDS, DCD(Endo) Specialist Endodontist
Dr. Averil Tse undertook her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago, New Zealand, graduating with Distinction in 2001. Averil then worked as a Dental House Surgeon for two years at Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals in New Zealand, before entering general private practice. Averil came to Melbourne to commence her specialist training in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne, graduating with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2009. Since then, Averil has been in full-time specialist private practice at Endodontic Associates.
Averil is also involved in lecturing and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University in Bendigo. Averil has lectured on various topics including diagnosis and management of cracked teeth and repair of perforations at continuing education meetings in Victoria. Averil has a special interest in the management of traumatic dental injuries and cracked teeth.
Averil currently serves on the Australian Society of Endodontology (VIC Branch) committee, and is the Chairperson for the Australian Dental Association (VIC Branch) regional study group in the city.
